MARQUETTE--Scott Tuma has been named vice president of the Marquette General Medical Group. Tuma is responsible for leading the Marquette General Medical Group, which is a group of dedicated providers and support staff who are focused on providing residents of the Upper Peninsula and its surrounding communities with the highest level of quality patient care. The group consists of approximately 140 Marquette General-employed providers, as well as support staff of more than 400.
MGMG physicians and other healthcare providers are important components of Superior Health Partners.
Tuma recently served as the director of operation for MGMG. He previously was COO for the Bell Medical Center and Director of Human Resources for Bell Hospital. He has also held positions as rwgional human resource director for United Rentals, and worked in employee relations and labor relations for the Tilden Mine in National Mine.
Tuma holds a masters of business administration degree from the University of Phoenix and bachelors degree in management from Northern Michigan University.
He resides in Marquette with his wife, Jamie, and their children Elizabeth, Mellisa and Nicolas. Tuma is a co-founder and race director for the Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic and a founding member of the Superiorland Cross Country Ski Club and Youth League. He also served for 10 years on the Marquette County Commission on Aging.
