MARQUETTE — While the city of Marquette has sold several parcels of Founders Landing to private developers, some of the land is still public property, including the shoreline.
On Monday, the Marquette City Commission moved forward with plans to enhance and promote that shoreline by awarding a bid for construction of a public boardwalk and seawall to Premeau Construction Inc. for $883,633.
“This will be an outstanding place for people to gather and enjoy the lake,” said Commissioner Robert Niemi, adding it was a “public project that we’ll all be proud of.”
