ISHPEMING — The cities of Ishpeming and Negaunee will be securing separate contracts for solid waste collection.
The two cities had been working together to seek a joint contract, but at its meeting Wednesday the Ishpeming City Council decided to approve a separate contract with North Country Disposal after bids received by the city for the joint contract proved to be more expensive than a single contract for each city.
