ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming Downtown Development Authority has decided to move forward on a bond issue that would fund several projects in the city’s downtown and along the U.S. 41 corridor.
The bonds would be paid back from the DDA’s budget surplus, and would therefore not have an impact on the city’s tax rates.
As the DDA cannot conduct the bonding itself, it must work through the Ishpeming City Council to secure the funds — expected to be several million dollars.
