MARQUETTE - An Ishpeming man accused of murder has pleaded not guilty in 25th Circuit Court in Marquette.

Leslie Burton Bushong, 46, is charged with second-degree murder in the Jan. 5 death of Wayne Perry, 51, also of Ishpeming.

Bushong pleaded not guilty by mail.

Second-degree murder is a felony charge that does not involve premeditation. Bushong could face up to life in prison if convicted.

Ishpeming Police were called to a home at 320 W. Johnson St. on Jan 5. following a 911 call reporting an unresponsive male, identified as Perry. He was transported to Bell Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A Jan 8. autopsy at Marquette General Hospital revealed significant head injuries that caused investigators to suspect homicide.
