MARQUETTE - Former Northern Michigan University standout Jamie Milam earned Sher-wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week honors for Oct. 15-18.

Milam, a defenseman, scored two goals and added three assists for the Toledo Walleye in the team's three-game, season-opening series against the Florida Everblades.

He scored the game-winning goal in a 5-2 Toledo decision in the second game of the series. He also recorded two helpers.

The next game, Milam tallied a goal and an assist in a 4-3 overtime win for the Walleye. His helper came on the game-winning marker.

At NMU (2002-06), Milam notched 30 goals and 68 assists in 157 games.
