Paul Fredrick Joki

ISHPEMING - Paul Fredrick Joki, age 54, passed away peacefully at the Mather Nursing Home on June 26, 2009, where he had been a resident for the last month.

Born on May 3, 1955 to Carol (Langson) Joki and the late Reginald D. Joki in Ishpeming, Mich., Paul graduated from Champion High School in 1973. He worked for a short while at the Mather B Mine. He completed cosmetology school and for a period of time owned Paul's Hairloft in Ishpeming. For 34 years, he has been employed by the Cleveland Michigan Mines as an electrician.

Paul was a Packers and Detroit Tigers fan. Paul's biggest joy was watching his son, Trevor, participate in various sporting activities. He enjoyed mealtimes at Sherri's Restaurant and Venice Supper Club with his son, Trevor. He was an avid bowler, and enjoyed his time spent on various leagues.

He is survived by his wonderful son Trevor (Joki) Wickstrom. A daughter, Alison Miller-Marshall (Todd), one granddaughter AnnaKay. A special sister, Regina Spiroff (Kiril) of Ishpeming; his mother, Carol (Langson) Joki of Humboldt; seven brothers, Reginald D. Joki Jr. of Antioch, Tenn., Kim (Deb) Joki of Greenville, Mich., Earl (Lauren) Joki of Rochester Hills, Mich., Randall Joki of Champion, Mich., Kevin (Jennifer) Joki of Ishpeming, Mich., Brian (Faye) Joki of Ishpeming, and Wayne (Chelli) Joki of L'Anse, Mich.; eight sisters, Diana (Steve) Byykkonen Ishpeming, Alesia Joki of Appleton, Wis., Carol (Paul) Casimi of Green Bay, Wis., Jessica (Paul W.) Racine Ishpeming, Angela (Terry) Creamer Trenary, Victoria Joki of Peoria, Ill., and Nemia (Matthieu) Delahaye of Champlain, Ill; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and his maternal grandmother, Viola Langson, of Negaunee.

He is preceded in death by his father Reginald D. Joki; his infant sister, Romaine; his sister Janice; his paternal grandparents, Fannie Lautanen and Oscar Joki; and his maternal grandfather, William Langson.

Viewing to be held at Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services to be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 2, with Pastor Dale Niskanen officiating. Interment services will be held at Negaunee Cemetery at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 3, with Pastor Mike Carriere officiating.

Pallbearers are Paul's seven brothers. Honorary pallbearer is his son, Trevor.
