Exchange Club tops Jim’s
Junior League

Exchange Club started the week with a win over Ishpeming Jim's IGA 17-11. Jordan Beaudry pitched four strong innings for the win, with Ryan Hanson coming in for the save.
The Exchange Club offense was led by Ryan Hanson with four hits and three runs scored; Drew Corkin and Alex baker had three hits and three runs scored. A.J Grazilius, Jared Swajanen and Jared Tredeau all had two hits and scored twice.
Exchange Club went on to beat Gwinn, 17-8, at the Gwinn field. Alex Baker led the team with five strong innings pitched, striking out 11 and helping his own cause with four hits and five runs scored, including a lead off home run in the third inning. Ryan Hanson also had a great night at the plate, collecting five hits and scoring four times.
In all, Exchange Club collected 18 hits.
CCI of Marquette extended its winning streak to eight games with four more victories.
CCI started week with a 10-4 win over Jim's IGA. Andy Nyquist got the win on the mound, with help from relievers Nick Kamrada and Theo Sanyal. Leading hitters for CCI were Payton LeBombard and Doug Ohman with two hits each. Jim's was led by Bobby Z. (no last name available) with a hit and two runs scored.
CCI next defeated Exchange Club 10-4, with Theo Sanyal getting the victory on the mound. CCI was led at the plate by Danny Brisson with three hits, including a home run, and Sanyal with three hits.
Alex Baker pitched a strong game for Exchange, striking out seven. Leading hitters for Exchange were Baker with two hits and three runs scored and Jordan Beaudry with two hits.
CCI than mercied Northern Tire 13-1. Nick Kamrada got the win on the mound, striking out nine and allowing two hits. Payton LeBombard led the offensive attack with three hits and three RBIs, with Theo Sanyal contributing two hits and two runs scored. Dylan Wernholm also scored twice.
Jake (no last name available) led Northern Tire with both of their hits.
CCI finished up the week with a 19-11 win over the Police Cadets. Nick Kamrada and Nathan Lamora shared the mound duties. Leading the way at the plate were Payton LeBombard with three hits and four RBIs; Kamrada with three hits and two RBIs; Rainger Rossway with two hits and three RBIs; and Nathan LaMora with two hits and two runs. A highlight of the game was Daniel Howard knocking in a pair of runs with a solid base hit.
The Cadets were led by Trevor Havican with two hits and two runs scored, and Brian Price with two hits, two runs and two RBIs.
In other action, Classic Auto took on Gwinn and came away with a 13-9 victory. Leading the way for Classic were Matt Bammert and Brad Meyers, with three runs each. Alex Stack, Charles Coccia and Hunter Larson scored two a piece while Brian Meyers scored once. Eric Kostreva, Brad Meyers and Alex Stack each had two hits and Larson had three RBIs.
Brad Meyers picked up the win on the mound while Brian Meyers and Hunter Larson also pitched with Larson recording the save.
Classic Auto then hosted Kiwanis from Ishpeming and lost 11-1. Scoring the lone run for Classic was Trevor Buchanon. Classic recorded two hits, one each by Aaron Hodges and Hunter Larson. Absorbing the loss on the mound was Brian Meyers. Aaron Hodges and Connor Elliott also pitched.
Statistics were not available for Ishpeming players.
Classic Auto took on Taco Bell and came away with a 15-5 win. Leading the way at the plate for Classic was Brad Meyers, who scored four times and collected three hits. Eric Kostreva scored three times while Brian Meyers scored twice.
Also crossing the plate once each were Matt Bammert, Alex Stack, Aaron Hodges, Hunter Larson, Trevor Buchanon and Kyle Bradfish. Recording two hits each were Hodges, Kostreva, Larson and Brian Meyers. Hodges notched the mound victory with Larson picking up the save.
Classic traveled to face Negaunee, who blanked them 11-0 in a mercy-shortened game. Classic recorded only two hits and both were by Hunter Larson. Eric Kostreva also reached base on a walk, but Classic was unable to move either base runner as Negaunee played a real good game defensively. Classic made eight errors en route to the loss. Aaron Hodges went the distance in absorbing the loss.
Classic Auto also hosted Jim's IGA from Ishpeming. Jim's picked up the victory 14-3 with 10 runs in the top half of the seventh inning. Scoring for Classic were Eric Kostreva, Alex Stack and Matt Bammert. Recording hits for Classic were Hunter Larson (two), Aaron Hodges and Alex Stack. Brad Meyers takes the loss on the mound while Brian Meyers and Connor Elliott came in relief.
