Racers compete at Thunder Valley
SANDS - It was a race against Mother Nature at Thunder Valley Sunday, but drivers managed to finish the day before the rain hit.
It was Father's Day all over again for Ross Olsen Sr. of Gwinn as his 14-year-old son Ross Jr., driving for only his second time, won the 4/6 feature.
Dave Frazer of Sands Township captured the 4/6 first heat and was third in the feature.
Aaron Sprowl won the 4/6 Thunder Valley Dash 4 Cash, and Putch Bentley of Iron River dominated the Late Model Class, claiming fast time, the heat, feature and barely winning the Dash 4 Cash over Allan Yelle.
The Super Stock class put on a great show with Ross Olsen winning the Dash 4 Cash, while Jim Yelle clinched the heat race, and Ray Keskimaki claimed the checkered flag in the feature and fast time.

There will be no races Sunday, but racing resumes July 12 with Mid-Season Championships.
