Teams travel to Escanaba

MARQUETTE - Recent Upper Peninsula Football Association action saw three teams of the Football Club of Marquette Wave travel to Escanaba to play Bayside Soccer.

The Wave 99 (U10) squad, behind four goals from Sierra Pearson, won 10-0. Elli Martysz found the back of the net three times, while Amanda Bednarek added two markers and Emily Burbey one.

Hannah Swajanen posted the shutout in goal.

Casey Durand led the Wave 98 (U11) team with four goals in their 13-0 victory over Bayside (Wis.).

Teammate Morgan Collins found the net three times, while Taylor Swajanen and Amber Huebner each had two markers. Mikayla Blight and Jessica Langford chipped in a goal apiece.

Zyna Zyble and Huebner shared the goalkeeping duties.

The Wave 97s (U12) played in the U13 bracket and came away with a 4-0 triumph over Bayside.

Allison Carlson led the way with two tallies. Calla Martysz and Carleigh Hillier each added one marker.

Morgan Leadbetter and Katelyn Johnson shared the shut out in goal.

Coach Nancy Graves said the midfield play of Lizzie Kurin, Alley Hillier, Alexa Olgren and Carliegh Hillier held Bayside to just two shots on goal.

U14 girls

Last Wednesday, the Orange Bullets defeated the Blue Wave, 4-2, behind two goals by Abigail Johnson and one apiece by Erin Lakenen and Destiny Martin.

For the Blue Wave, Clara Churchill and Emily Boyle found the back of the net.

Thursday night, the Yellow Bananas edged the Orange Bullets, 4-3. Kate Garrow scored twice for the winners, while teammates Brianna Buhl and Mackenzie Verbeke also notched tallies.

No scorers for the Orange Bullets were reported.

U12 girls

The Orange Orangatans beat the Yellow Pineapples, 4-1, behind goals by Lindsey Rabitaille, Sierra Lancour, Destinee Sandstrom and Amanda Gray. Alexa Olgren found the net for the Yellow Pineapples.

Also, the Blue Sapphires beat the Blue Team, 4-3. For the Sapphires, Morgan Collins, Andrea Olson and Katelyn Johnson hit the back of the net.

Kendra Palomaki and Mariah Grange scored for the Blue Team.

U8 girls

On June 11, Team 11 Mustard got goals by Natalie Robinia, Jessi Armstrong and Sophie Bartlett.

Team 12 (the Chocolate Chips) saw Emily Wasilewski, Vauda Grizzel, Krista White, Jasmine Burke, Molly Welch, Allyson O'Neill and Anna Mclean notch goals.

For the Team 1 Bumblebees, Destiny Stanaway and Karen Ludwig scored, while for the Grayhounds, Mikaila Graham, Jayme Winn and Sydney Rehmann found the net.

On June 4, Team 12 played Team 9. Vauda Grizzel. Jasmine Burke, Anna McLean and Molly Welch dented the twine for Team 12, while goals for Team 9 were notched by Dariya Goin, Emily Paupore and Naomi Mattson.

The Grayhounds saw Mikaila Graham and Sydney Rehmann score against the Mustard team. Sophie Bartlett, Rebecca Zorn, Jessi Armstrong and Natalie Robinia hit the back of the net for Mustard.

Also, scoring for the Blue Sapphires were Erynn Messana, Emily Helgren, Kayley Elmblad, Grace Farnsworth and Madison Pancheri.

The Blue Beams got markers from Alaine Niemi, Chloe Aldrich and Kylie L'Huillier.

Madison Tasson, Veda Rae Kerekes, Alexis Rabitaille, Ahnika Puskala and Peyton Sides found the net for the Orange Team.

On June 6, Team Blue Crush got goals from Julia Jones, Madeline Milkey, Lauren Kurzawa and Raven Kosloski.

Scoring for the Sapphires were Farnsworth and Helgren.

Finding the back of the net for the Orange Tigers were Ellina Miilu and Addison Bailey.

Jacey Jacobson and Gabby Swanson scored for the Blue Blossoms.

For the Blue Jays, Alyson LaBelle, Erin VanderSchaaf, Julia King and Josie Danielkiewicz all scored.

Green Gator scorers were Madilynn Kirby, Ivy Pickard and Kyla Palomaki.

Blue Angel goals were recorded by Taylor Hookana and Aubrey Palmer.

Jalynn Close, Hannah Gaboury, Madison Reynolds and Amara Wallner scored for the Gray Wolves.

Pink Posies saw goals from Sydney Lake and Norah Daley.

For the Bumblebees, Emily Bryant, Madison Balko, Mackenzie Hennings and Lauryn Martin.

Lemondrops goal scorers were Kaleah Puskala, Karlee Hulkkonen, Hadley Ketzenberger and Kaitlyn Berandt.

Team 10 goals were scored by Nathan Otero, Caleb Johnson, Theo Kumpula and Shane McEachern.

For Team 13, goals were scored by Cooper Smith, Jessica Bowman, Carson Dyer, Jaden Wrobel and Tommy Kimmes.

Blue Thunder players scoring goals were Kobie Guidebeck, Jack Rantanen and Jacob Hendrickson.

Andrew Fedrizzi scored for Team One.

From May 27, Team 12 goals were from Soren Higgins, Travis Elledge, Raphael Millado, Aaron Pap, Connor Steer, Sofia VanDenEnd and Brayden Velmer.

On that date, Team 10 goals came from Caleb Johnson, Nathan Otero, Erik Salminen and Theo Kumpula.

On June 3, Team 12 got goals from Soren Higgins, Aaron Pap and Raphael Millado, while Team 8 was led with goals by Sean O'Connor, Trevor Salmon and Drew Wyble.
