Peninsula Bank tops Elks
W.I.N. Girls Softball League
In Junior League play, Peninsula Bank topped the Elks Lodge, 9-8.
Hannah Smith went 4-for-4 and picked up the mound win, while teammates Lindsey Giraud and Willow LaChapelle added three hits apiece.
For the Elks, Sadie Stetson went 3-for-4 and Sophie Hooper added a key hit.
Jubilee Foods defeated the Ishpeming Credit Union, 11-10. Maddie Misiak hit a grand slam for Jubilee; Josie Moyle belted a home run for ICU.
Peninsula Bank edged Cliff's Natural Resources, 19-18. Bree Ranta went 2-for-3 with two home runs and Ashlee Nowlin also went 2-for-3 while scoring twice.
For Cliffs, Quinn Whitford went 3-for-3 with two home runs.
Jubilee Foods drubbed Meyer Family Vision, 20-5. Misiak and Bridget Wood each hit a homer, while Karli Burke smacked a triple.
Peninsula Bank dumped Woody's Truck and Auto, 25-9. Bree Ranta went 3-for-3 with a home run, while Xena Nowlin and Madison Pruett each added a double for the winners.
For Woody's, Ashlee Homola posted a triple and knocked in two runs.
In the Senior League, Super One Foods whipped the Tri-Township Lions, 20-10, as Kara Harrington went 4-for-4 with a double and home run.
For the winners, Ashton Kirchoff went 2-for-4 with an inside-the-park grand slam; Cortney Caliguri added three hits, including a triple; and Gabrielle French went 3-for-4 with two doubles.
For the Lions, Bethany Firby and Hannah Bertucci each went 3-for-3, with Bertucci hitting a home run. Kayla Bertucci added two hits.
VFW defeated Mullin's, 18-2. Caylie Gray went 4-for-4 with a home run; Randi Boule 4-for-4; Carley Maanika 3-for-4; and Cassy Sandberg 3-for-3.

In Class A play, TeePee Bar crushed I-Build construction, 29-1, behind four hits apiece by Amy Ayotte (homer), Lisa Krause and Michelle Roberts.
Annette Gleason and Ann Herman rapped out hits for I-Build.
Tina Nelson went 5-for-5, Abbie Wilder recorded three hits and Nikki Coduti belted two over-the-fence home runs as Paisano's whipped Jubilee Foods, 26-15.
Kim Koski (four) and Stacie Kruse (three) combined for seven hits for Jubilee.
PC Medic downed Hickey's, 21-6, as Sue Sparks went 5-for-5. Teammates Tammy Karp and Emilee Rowe added three hits apiece, including a home run.
Amy Morcom (triple) and Judy Morcom posted two hits each for the losers.
Kara Havel, Alyssa Hallum and Molly Wales all went 5-for-5 as DogHouse Pub routed Jean Kay's, 31-11.
Mary Ransom (four) and Dindy Cousineau (three) combined for seven hits as Buck's Party Store jolted Jasper Ridge Brewery 1, 16-7.
Marissa Nelson and Vanessa Taavola posted three hits apiece for the brewery.
Republic Memorials drew a bye.
In Class B, Sister's dropped Jasper Ridge Brewery 2, 10-7, behind home runs by Jess Noskey and Linda Dompierre. Anna Dompierre added a triple.
For Jasper Ridge 2, Loretta Dugan and Diana Sandberg rapped out two hits apiece.
Kaitlin Hares went 3-for-3 and Jessica Rice slammed two round trippers as Tino's 24 stopped Company B Graphics, 12-7. Wendi Annala recorded three hits for Company B.
Lisa Melka collected three hits as Tino's 2 edged Paradise Bar, 11-4.
April Ulrickson and Rachel Marta paced Paradise with two hits apiece.
Pasquali's outlasted Jack's TeePee, 21-19, behind four hits by Sam LaJoie and a triple - and two RBI's - by Jamie Durand.
Tina Maki slapped out four hits (triple) and Kristen Mariuzza three (triple) for Jack's.
Rookie's Too/Quality Car Care got four hits each by Maria Ruesing and Michelle Lammi (homer) in a 31-0 blasting of Eastwood.
Becky Moyle added three hits (homer).
Sandy Gervae led Eastwood with two hits.
Lauri Shaw collected five hits, while teammates Sandy Olson (triple, two doubles), Kris LaForge (two triples, double), Deanne O'Connor and Katie Tonge (two doubles) added four apiece as Country Lanes ripped Zephyr Store, 33-18.

In Class C, Signs Unlimited defeated Casino Bar, 16-7, behind four safeties each by Liz Lenten and Rebecca LaChapelle.
Pacing Casino were Kathy Lynch with three hits (two RBIs), Heather Luokkala with two (double) and Val Morris with two (triple).
Mather Nursing Center beat Needle & Thread, 15-5, behind the pitching of Denise Alderton.
Winning pitcher Crystal Coron got plenty of bat support as Dave's Collision/Strength & Fitness downed Oberstar, 16-4. Jaime Roose (homer). and Jenn Pikka rapped out four hits apiece for the winners while Tony Jandron added three.
For Oberstar, Lise Plis and Kathy Zyble each went 2-for-4.
Barr's Bar drubbed Rumorz Bar, 20-9, as Chastity Ellet and Janelle Buttery both slammed doubles. Annie Asgaard hit a triple for Rumorz.
Mary Aho (four) and Rose Korpi (three) combined for seven hits as Bjork & Zhulkie edged Chapper's Pub, 11-10, despite two triples by Micailly Carlson and a round-tripper by Tina Nylander for the losers.
Rookie's 1 stopped Tino's 1, 15-4, behind a grand slam by Kasie Kleikamp. Jen Chapman added three hits (double) and Bobbi Shiroda a triple for the winners.
Theresa Argall went 3-for-3 and Kristi DeCaire collected two hits (triple) for Tino's 1.

In the Class A division, Rookie's beat Congress 30-19; Paradise got by GLRC ,19-8; Dave's Auto edged Hickeys, 20-19; and Buck's stampeded Tino's 39-20.
In Class B, the Elks outlasted Rainbow, 36-20; Silver Bullet squeaked by Tasson's, 21-20; Stone House defeated Hoover's, 29-20; and Chapper's drubbed Barr's Bar, 24-9.
