MARQUETTE - Eileen Blanche Young, age 87, of 526 Lost Creek Drive, Marquette, entered eternal life Sunday, May 31, 2009, at her home.

Eileen was born June 5, 1921 in Marquette, a daughter of Albert and Elliott (McCash) Babcock. She was raised in Marquette and attended the Marquette area schools. On Nov. 19, 1938, she married Irving "Bud" Young, and together the couple set about establishing a home a raising their family. The couple was married 66 years. Eileen was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, loved to cook, play cards, crochet and do craftwork. She also loved her home in Arizona where she wintered over 25 years and where she was active in dance clubs and performed in area nursing homes. Eileen will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Eileen is survived by her two sons, Wayne (special friend, Toni) Young and George (Linda) Young both of Negaunee; 10 grandchildren, Wayne (fiance, Sue) Young of Nashville, Tenn., Larry (Cathy) Young of Gladstone, Laurie (Mark) Easterwood of Marquette, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Young of Coppers Cove, Texas, Kevin (Debra) Young of Negaunee, Steve (fiance, Kathy) Young of Brighton, Rick Young of Menominee, Shelly (Alan) Koski of Republic, Keri (David) Miles of Tacoma, Wash., and Rodney (Terri) Young of Negaunee; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild, Mallory; three brothers, Lester (Marion) Babcock of Houghton Lake, Walter Babcock of Skandia and Don Babcock of West Branch. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irving "Bud" Young; a great-granddaughter Janice Miles; her daughter-in-law, Marlene; her sister, Evelyn; and her brother, Chester.

Friends may call at the Swanson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 5, at 11 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church. A reception will be held following the service in the church hall. Burial will be made in Northland Chapel Gardens.
