Jubilee tops Republic Memorials

Iron Range Women

In Class A action of the Iron Range Women's Softball League, Jubilee Foods received a 3-for-3 performance from Amanda Harlock and 2-for-3 performances from Amy Schultz and Sue Rice, en route to an 8-6 victory over Republic Memorials.

Paisanos topped Teepee Bar 11-4, as Bobbi Ayotte and Kerry White had two hits for the winners, and Chelsie Wealton had a home run to lead Paisanos. Teepee was led by Lisa Krause, going 2-for-3 with a triple, and Michelle Roberts, also 2-for-3.

Doghouse Pub got fixed by PC Media, 25-9. Niki Pfluger was 5-for-5 for PC Medic, while teammates Emilee Rowe (4-for-4), Teri Haynes (4-for-5) and Carla Lemmon (3-for-5) added to the team's offense. Doghouse was led by Katie Erspamer, who was 2-for-3 with a triple.

Buck's Party Store had the Bye, while two games - Jasper Ridge Brewery against Hickey's and I-Build Construction against Jean Kays - were cancelled due to the Black River Falls fire.

In Class B, Paradise Bar squeaked by Jack's Teepee 12-11 with Sara Martin driving in the winning run and hitting a home run in the game. Teammate April Lawer was 3-for-4, as was Kathy Maynard. Kristin Mariuzza was 2-for-4 with a double for the losers, and Tina Maki added a 2-for-4 performance.

Tino's scored 12 runs to beat Pasquali's 12-3. Lindy Quayle had two hits for Tino's and Cheryl Jackson had a double for Pasquali's.

Sister's snuck by Company B Graphics, 10-9, led by home runs from Linda Dompierre, Linda Manninen and Sandie Whitford. Company B Graphics had doubles from Thalicia Gray, Shari Mahoski, Taylor Gray and Michelle Gray, while Cherie Johnson had a home run. Mahoski was also 4-for-4 at the plate.

Sandy Olson was 3-for-3 with a grand slam home run to lead Country Lanes to a 17-13 victory over Jasper Ridge Brewery 2. Liz Valela had a triple for the losers.

Tino's 2 doubled up Eastwood 22-11, with Andrea Juchemich and Ally Rogers each hitting homers, Katie Menard wrapping a triple and Shannon Terres hitting two dingers for the winners. Nicole Briggs hit a triple and Denise Kaukola had a double for the losers.

Rookies Too/Quality Car Care had an offensive showing, defeating Zephyr Store 35-19, led by Angela Paris' 5-for-6, 5 RBI performance and Connie Kontio going 4-for-6. Zephyr Store had two 4-for-5 plate showings, from Veronica Slone and Jessica Koski. Slone added two home runs, while Koski had one.

In Class C play, Oberstar easily defeated Needle & Thread, 13-6 Cindy Albright and Karen Weigand were each 2-for-4 with a home run for the winners. Lynn Laakso had one hit, and Alanna Pekuri had two hits for Needle & Thread.

Dave's Collision-Strength and Fitness received a big game from Jaime Roose, who went 2-for-3 with a home run, and defeated Barr's Barr 6-3. Chastity Ellet was 2-for-4 with a homer for the losers.

Amy Bazinette's still got it. Bazinette went 5-for-6 with one grand slam and two other home runs in Tino's 1's big 33-6 win over Rumorz Bar. Teammate Miranda Nelson had a triple. Rumorz Bar was led by Diane Hoffman and Donna Rosales, who each accounted for two hits.

Chapper's Pub beat Casino Bar 6-4, with Tina Nylander's home run and Tanya Menard's triple leading the winners. Casino Bar was led by Val Morris and Julie Collick, who each went 2-for-2.

Signs Unlimited doubled up Mather Nursing Center 18-9. Sam lenten was 4-for-4, Bethany Collins 3-for-3 and Emily Garceau was the winning pitcher for Signs. Mather Nursing Center was led by Jen Rajala and Allie Cross, who were 3-for-3. Rajala had a triple and Cross a double.

Amber Billings was 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Rookies 1 to a 16-14 win over Bjork & Zhulkie. Katie Korpi was 4-for-4 for the losers.

W.I.N. girls softball

In Junior League play, Jubilee Foods defeated Superior Iron Range Credit Union, 10-5. Marissa Carello went 3-for-3 and Lilliana Briggs 2-for-3. For Superior, Dana Niemisto turned in a double play and Hailey Richards hit a home run.

Jubilee Foods also defeated Meyer Family Vision, 16-2. Valerie LaChapelle belted a home run and Bridget Wood posted a home run and a triple.

For Meyer, MacKenzie Chartier made a fine catch in left-center field and Annie Bjork went 2-for-3.

Ishpeming Credit Union topped Woody's Auto, 26-5. Josey Moyle went 3-for-3 with a grand slam and Hannah Millimaki went 2-for-3.

Ishpeming Credit Union also beat the Elks Lodge, 12-2. Avery Kangas and Ciara Brewer both went 3-for-3, while Olivia Durocha and Jordyn Perry both rapped out two hits each.

Jubilee Food edged Ishpeming Credit Union, 16-15. Shea Blewett smacked a home run and Karli Burke a double. For ICU, Moyle hit a grand slam and Kangas a homer.

Jubilee Foods defeated Woody's Auto, 21-2. Wood went 4-for-4 and Burke 3-for-3. Morgan Burnside hit a triple for Woody's.

Ishpeming Credit Union knocked off Cliff's Natural Resources, 14-10. Quinn Whitford came through with a single, double and grand slam.

Cliff's Natural Resources topped Peninsula Bank, 12-8. Samantha Carlson scored three runs while Emily Lokken chipped in a hit and scored twice.

For Pen Bank, Hannah Smith went 2-for-3 with a home run and Bree Ranta added two circuit clouts.

Dan Perkins Construction defeated the Elks Lodge, 6-2. Cortnee VanTainen hit a triple and Ashley Bertucci a double for the winners. For the Elks, Emily Liquia and Chloe Stetson each hit a double.

Peninsula Bank knocked off the Elks Lodge, 13-10. Alyssa Palomaki went 4-for-4 and scored three runs. Bree Ranta went 3-for-4 with a home run and knocked in five runs. Lindsey Giraud added a single.

For the Elks, Liquia went 3-for-3 with a triple. Sadie Stetson also went 3-for-3.

Peninsula Bank also came out ahead of Meyer Family Vision, 10-9. Ranta went 3-for-3 with two homers, Ashlee Nowlin 2-for-3 and Hope Hibbard added a key hit for Pen Bank.

Kaitie Fredin went 3-for-3 with a home run and a triple. Mackenzie Baldwin contributed a triple.
