My name is Josh Sullivan and I'm a 27-year-old artist and writer from St. Petersburg, Fla.
Currently, I'm in the midst of traveling the country for all of 2009 for a project called "Fifty-Two Friends." Each week, I stay with a different person in a different city and chronicle my experiences online and in a self-published magazine that will be 1,248 pages when the year is done.
I started on Jan. 1 in Florida and I'll be ending on Dec. 31 in Florida. I've gone 7,600 miles so far, and at the moment I'm on Week 17 in the St. Louis, Mo. area. I'll be heading to Marquette for Week 19 from May 7-13.
I'll be traveling through 40 states total, and most of the places I'm going will be new to me since I've never really traveled before.
The people I'm staying with are old friends, friends of friends, and complete strangers who have opened their homes to me.
I've split my traveling between getting rides from friends and taking bus rides, including two 1,400 mile treks already.
This has been a wonderful experience and I can't believe all of the amazing things I'm getting to see and all the amazing people I'm getting to meet.
