Construction at new Walgreens store in Marquette on track, despite frigid temps

MARQUETTE - The building that will house the national retail pharmacy Walgreens is slowly coming together at the corner of McClellan Avenue and Washington Street.
"The exterior walls have been put up and they're putting the steel up for the roof," said Michael Ricke, executive vice president for Anchor Properties, the property's Kentucky-based developer. "We'll spend the winter finishing the inside of the building."
Ricke added that he hopes to have the exterior finished in spring.
"I would hope that the store opens in late May or June," he said.
The Walgreens will feature photo developing and a drive-up window. It will be open 24 hours per day.
