MARQUETTE - A national television audience will be watching the Superior Dome on Thursday night. The Northern Michigan-Michigan Tech football game will be shown nationally on CBS College Sports Network. FSN Detroit is picking up the feed for the regional audience.
The winner of the game will take home the Miner's Cup. NMU currently has the Miner's Cup as a result of the 34-27 win last year in the Superior Dome. Kickoff is set for a little after 8 p.m., but many other activities are planned before, during and after the game. Before the game, there will be a pre-game tailgate buffet from 4-7:30 p.m.
The buffet prices are $6.95 for adults, $4.50 for children 3-12 and free for children under 3.
Also prior to the contest, the Young Wildcat Club will be making signs, while the ROTC students from MTU will run the game ball to Baraga for a hand off to the NMU ROTC, who will bring the ball on the final leg to the game. The ROTC members then will rappel the ball from the ceiling of the Superior Dome to give to game officials to start off the contest.
During the game, NMU student organizations will be showing their Wildcat spirit. After the game, there will be a fifth quarter reception in the Superior Dome on the east side. Meal, drink and game tickets are available at all NMU EZ Ticket outlets.
