Mustangs win two
MUNISING — Liane Sadak drove in the winning run to pick up the mound victory as the Munising High School girls softball team beat visiting Negaunee Monday, 3-1, to gain a sweep of a doubleheader.
Losing pitcher Charissa Johnson pitched a compete game for the Miners (13-6), allowing five hits and two walks while striking out six. She added a single at the plate.
Angelina Juidici hit a double for the Miners.
In the first game, the Mustangs posted a 4-3 extra-inning victory over Negaunee.
Mallorie Stasewich hit a two-out RBI single to make Rebecca Way the winning hurler.
For Negaunee, Allison Rigling took the loss, giving up eight hits and three walks while fanning nine.
Johnson went 4-for-5 for the Miners, all her hits singles. Negaunee stranded 11 baserunners.
