Ronald R. ‘Ringo’ Ringuette

ISHPEMING — Ronald R. “Ringo” Ringuette, age 60, of 100 N Daisy St. passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at his home in Ishpeming Twp.


Ronald was born June 28, 1947, in Ishpeming, the son of the late Robert and Beulah (Hebert) Ringuette. He was a graduate of Ishpeming High School and later joined the United States Army. “Ringo” served our country during the Vietnam War and earned such medals as the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars, 1st Class Gunner, Marksman (Rifle M-16), Marksman (Rifle M-14).


Ronald resided in Republic for 16 years prior to moving to Ishpeming. Most recently, “Ringo” retired in 2007 from the NICE Community Schools where he had worked since 2003 as a bus driver. He had also spent 27 years working for Goodyear Tire Co. until 1998 as a truck driver, and for 2 years at Northern Tire from 1998-2000.


Ronald was a member of the Riverside Club and served as manager for the past 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a member of the Ishpeming Horseshoe league. Ronald also loved to paint.


Ronald is survived by his sons: Lee (Lindsey) Ringuette of Ishpeming, MI and Jared Ringuette of Ishpeming, MI, brother: Raymond (Merry) Ringuette of Republic, MI, grandsons: Nolan and Tony Ringuette along with nephews: Shawn and Kevin Ringuette and special friends Nancy and Dave Jaykka. Ronald was preceded in death by an infant sister Christine Ringuette.


A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming with Rev. Fr. James Challancin officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #380 will have a veteran’s flag presentation following the service.
