DePERE, Wis. — Our mother, Judith (Judy) Heslip, 63, of DePere, went to be with Dad, on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Judy was born on May 19, 1944, in Ishpeming to the late Nels and Alina (Hintsala) Olgren. She married Dennis Heslip Sr., on May 19, 1962, in Ishpeming and he preceded her in death in 1990. Judy lived in the Green Bay, Wis., area most of her life. She was a wonderful seamstress and did alterations, and later, she took her talent and opened her own business, Alterations by Judy, retiring four years ago. Judy will be remembered for her great love of family and the joy of family gatherings as well as her helpful hands and heart to all her friends and family.
She is survived by her beloved children, Dennis (Ann) Heslip of New Franken, Wis., Kenneth (Kim) Heslip of Crandon, Wis., Dora Heslip (Tim) Grote of Des Moines, Iowa, and Loretta (Kevin) Bauer of DePere, Wis.; grandchildren, Tabitha Heslip and her children Kyle and Alex; Daniel and Tyler Heslip; Allissa, Kaitlyn, and Hollie Heslip; Zakary Grote; and Hannah and Izaiah Bauer; two brothers, Theodore Heslip and Martin Heslip, both of Michigan; and one sister, Dorothy (Bob) Worgull of Arizona.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Leonard and August; one sister, Aili Kangas; and other friends and relatives.
A Celebration of Judy’s life with a visitation will be held at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Howard-Suamico location, on Monday, February 11, 2008. Funeral service 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Harder officiating. Burial at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
