MARQUETTE — Deborah Jean Hanford, 53, of 1705 Schaffer Ave., Marquette, entered eternal life Monday, October 22, 2007, at Marquette General Hospital.

Debbi was born May 7, 1954, in Marquette, a daughter of Edward and Margaret (Thompson) Malmgren, and was a lifelong resident. She was employed for ten years as a healthcare worker with Apria Healthcare and then worked as a bartender at the Shoreland Bar. For the past five years, Debbi has been a bartender at the Marquette Elks Lodge. She especially enjoyed time spent with her grandson, Ronald, and was extremely proud and happy over the recent birth of twin grandsons, Leeland and Cameron.  Debbi was a member of the Richard Jopling Post No. 44 American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Warren C. Hanford, whom she married May 17, 1996; her daughter, Amanda Caesar of Lansing; two sons, Frank Hanford of Marquette and Matthew (Rae) Seide of Houle, Okla.; her grandsons, Ronald Specker, and twins, Leeland and Cameron Peeper; her mother, Margaret “Peg” Malmgren of Marquette; a brother, Michael (Beth) Malmgren of Howell, Texas; her sister-in-law, Sharon (James) Petrella of Harvey; brothers-in-law, Nicholas (Janet) DeMarinis of Gwinn, James DeMarinis of Harvey; and Donald Hanford of Gatesville, Texas; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Cathy Tuimala. Debbi was preceded in death by her father.

An informal gathering of family and friends will take place at the Richard Jopling Post No. 44 of the American Legion, 700 W. Bluff St., on Wednesday, October 24, at 3:00 pm.

The Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home is serving the family.
