Newberry Youth sixth-graders win CBC Tourney in Manistique
The Newberry Youth Basketball Association sixth-grade girls basketball team won all three of its games on Saturday at the CBC Youth Basketball Tournament in Manistique to capture its second tounament championship of the season. Newberry beat Manistique-Richey, 11-9, Mansitique-Bauman, 31-2, and the Big Bay Black Bears, 34-5. Rotary ends season with championship win
The Marquette Rotary mites won the championship game against the Lansing Capital Center Pride, 8-1, at the Bridge Brawl Mite Tournament held at the Little Bear Arena in St. Ignace this past weekend. Rotary completed the season with a 38-0-1 record.
