ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming High School volleyball team had little trouble with Manistique on Thursday, winning the Mid-Peninsula Conference match in straight sets (25-17, 25-21, 25-17). “It seemed to be a fairly easy match,” Ishpeming coach Erin Moore said. “We came together as a team and when we work as a team, we can accomplish anything.” Among the individual standouts for Ishpeming (4-5 overall, 4-4 M-PC) were junior Kerrie Myers (four kills, two solo blocks), senior Emily Kangas (11 assists) and junior Annie LeSage (six aces). “Annie is able to aim her serves anywhere on the court,” Moore said. “She has hard serves that are very challenging to pass forward.” Ishpeming also won the JV match, 2-1. Superior Central splits pair At Eben, Superior Central split a pair of Central U.P. Conference matches Thursday.
