Man seriously hurt in accident

GARDEN — A Garden man is in serious condition after a one-car accident Saturday morning.


According to the Michigan State Police, Bernard E. Grecheski, 76, of Garden was driving at 2:30 a.m. Saturday on Water Street in downtown Garden when he left the road and struck a utility pole.


Police said Grecheski was transported to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital where he was stabilized. He was later transported to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. Troopers from the Michigan State Police Manistique post and Gladstone post assisted at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
