2/24/12 LSSU at NMU hockey line charts

The Northern Michigan University hockey team closes out the regular season with a pair of CCHA games against Upper Peninsula rival Lake Superior State at 7:35 p.m. tonight and Saturday at the Berry Events Center.

Both are must win games for the Wildcats, who are in search of the first-round CCHA playoff series at the BEC and an NCAA tournament berth. A loss tonight and tomorrow would most likely derail both goals.

Tonight NMU is holding its annual silent auction at the BEC. Saturday night is Senior Night.

The Lakers and Wildcats split their series earlier in the year in Sault Ste. Marie with NMU winning on Friday 2-1 and losing on Saturdy 6-3.

Sophomore Jared Coreau will get the start in goal for NMU. Senior Reid Ellingson will start on Saturday for Senior Night.

Sophomore Erik Higby returns to the NMU lineup tonight after missing the last five games. He last played on Feb. 3 against Ferris State.
