1/7/12 Alaska at NMU hockey line charts

January 7, 2012 - Matt Wellens
The Northern Michigan University hockey team hosts the Alaska Nanooks at 7:35 p.m. tonight in Game 2 of the two game series at the Berry Events Center.

The Nanooks and Wildcats tied last night 2-2 with Alaska winning the shootout 1-0. NMU led 3-0 after two periods.

Sophomore forward Erik Higby is out of the lineup after suffering an undisclosed injury that required him to be taken from the arena to the hospital.

The account for the loss of Higby, redshirt freshman Ryan Kesti moves up from the fourth line and DJ Vandercook in inserted into the lineup. Those two will team with Kory Kaunisto.

The fourth line will consist of sophomore Jake Johnson, junior Brian Nugent and freshman Ryan Daugherty. Kyle Follmer moves back to defense with Scott Macaulay and Austin Handley is the lone healthy scratch.

Sophomore goaltender Jared Coreau — the CCHA Goaltender of the Month and honorable mention for National Player of the Month — will start after Reid Ellingson got the start Friday.
