Northern Links: NMU hockey improves to 3-1, splits with UNO

October 21, 2012 - Matt Wellens

MARQUETTE — The Northern Michigan University hockey team salvaged a series split with Nebraska-Omaha over the weekend, winning 2-1 on Saturday night in Omaha behind 35 saves by junior goaltender Jared Coreau.

The Wildcats return home the next two weekends to host Notre Dame and Michigan in CCHA play. Look for the return of the NMU Hockey Report and other original Mining Journal content then.

For now, here’s a round up of coverage from across the web on last night’s victory, including content from Matthew Semisch of and Radio Free Omaha, who was kind enough to provide a few photos to The Mining Journal this weekend.
