In Game 1 last night, NMU fell 5-2 to the Mavericks. freshman forward Darren Nowick and sophomore forward Reed Seckel had the goals for NMU and junior goaltender Jared Coreau was pulled in the third period after giving up a fifth goal.
Coreau will get the start in goal tonight, but there are other shakeups in the lineup.
Nowick is out, as is junior forward Kory Kaunisto. Sophomore Ryan Kesti has taken Nowick’s spot at center in the fourth line, while freshman Ryan Aynsley joins Seckel and senior center Matt Thurber on the second forward line.
Senior defenseman Kyle Follmer is listed at wing with junior center Stephan Vigier and sophomore wing Ryan Daugherty on the first line.
Junior Austin Handley will pair with senior defenseman and captain Scott Macaulay tonight.
I’m in Marquette, not Omaha, but will be available on Twitter providing updates and taking questions. Feel free to join me and use the hashtag #nmuhky.
