10/13/12 NMU hockey line charts: Wildcats vs. Badgers at Resch Center in Green Bay

October 13, 2012 - Matt Wellens

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. — The Northern Michigan University hockey team will go for the series sweep of Wisconsin tonight at the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon following a 2-1 victory on Friday night.

Sophomore Reed Seckel and freshman Cohen Adair had the third period goals for NMU and junior goaltender Jared Coreau made 19 saves in goal. Both Seckel and Coreau spoke to the media following the game.

Seckel, the former Green Bay Gambler, will be out of tonight’s game due to an injury. Freshman Darren Nowick will take his spot at wing on the line with senior Matt Thurber and junior Kory Kaunisto. Sophomore Ryan Kesti takes Nowick’s spot at center with senior Brian Nugent and junior Jake Johnson.

Junior defenseman Wade Epp remains out of the lineup. Junior Austin Handley started in Epp’s spot last night opposite junior C.J. Ludwig. Tonight, freshman Ryan Trenz will make his first collegiate start in place of Handley.
