Today, the 2012-13 college hockey season — the last of the CCHA and how we’ve come to know the sport — picks up speed with Northern Michigan University hosting Brock University in an exhibition at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Berry Events Center.

The Mining Journal’s 2012-13 season preview begins this week. The “Fresh Faces” feature begins on Wednesday with sophomore transfer Nathan Taurence, followed by the seven eligible freshman. The full three-part Mining Journal season preview begins a week from today on Monday.
Note: Junior defenseman Luke Eibler and freshman goaltender Mathias Dahlstrom will not be featured this season because they are no eligible.
