
| | All you need to know about the Northern Michigan University 2012 fall sports seasonAugust 30, 2012 - Matt WellensMARQUETTE — After a month of preseason practices, a few scrimmages and even more practices, the 2012 Northern Michigan University sports season gets underway tonight with a pair of football matches.
The Wildcat women’s soccer team kicks off the fall sports season on its home pitch with a 5 p.m. match against Minnesota-Duluth. If you can’t be at the match — the NMU Soccer Field is located behind the Superior Dome — follow along on Twitter for live updates.
At 7 p.m. in Ohio, the NMU football team opens its season and GLIAC play at Findlay. Like those of you not in Ohio, I will be tuning into 100.3 FM WUPT for the broadcast while also posting my thoughts through out the game on Twitter. If you have a question during the game, toss a tweet my way and include the hashtag #nmufb.
On Friday, the Wildcat women’s cross country team competes at 3 p.m. in the Michigan Tech Opener in Houghton. The volleyball ’Cats play four matches in the Ferris State tournament on Friday and Saturday in downstate Big Rapids.
