Art exhibit successful

To the Journal editor:

The Lake Superior Art Association would like to thank those who helped us with our recent Dog Dayz of Winter youth art exhibition.

We received a generous grant from the Hirvonen Family Foundation which provided the majority of the funding for this event. The Up Sled Dog Association / UP200 also provided funding and prizes for the artists. The program was chaired by Renee Michaud, assisted by Rene Himes, and with support from the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center staff. Members of LSAA volunteered to put on the reception.

Our young artists, from grades K-8 throughout Marquette County, deserve a huge thank you for sharing their talents with us! Their teachers and parents are instrumental in encouraging these children to develop a love for art, along with providing the materials and teaching techniques needed. LSAA is happy to showcase the amazing results of their efforts. Thanks to all for another successful year!
