Valle’s Market conversion possible?

To the Journal editor:

As a shopper at Valle’s Market for 50 years, I’m saddened about their closing. The store is the last of its kind in Marquette.

I have always thought that Valle’s on Third Street would be the perfect location for a Trader Joe’s. Any chance, Mr. Valle, that before totally giving in and shutting the doors that you consider the possibility of turning the store into a Trader Joe’s?

Trader Joe’s is hugely popular and it could be the first in the Upper Peninsula. Currently, the closest ones are in Milwaukee and Ann Arbor.

I believe people would come to Marquette from all over to be able to shop at Trader Joe’s and what better location than Valle’s?

It would be so cool if Valle’s could be resurrected into a Trader Joe’s. A win-win for everyone.

Thank you!
