To the Journal editor:
In the midst of all the “sex scandals” and “sexual abuse” stories that are sweeping our nation, I can’t help but wonder what all the attention is about in the news media.
What seems to have started recently with the Hollywood scandals, then all the snowball effect that is now a full blown avalanche of the “me too” movement, does anyone else see the double standard that is so evident?
The same universities that have professors that teach young people that there no moral absolutes and that each individual has the power to make the decisions that make them feel good somehow seem shocked that young women and men get raped and abused.
These same institutions have no qualms about taking hard working parents money to promote sexual promiscuity and have classes that under the thin disguise of “freedom of expression, free speech, etc,” promote pornography and all sorts of perversion.
Then they are shocked when people act out the things they have been taught. Then they throw in alcohol and drugs and the problems are compounded exponentially. I have a hard time believing the supposed outrage that the liberal left media are expressing everyday on the “news.”
One of the main goals of the political left in my lifetime is the breakdown of all moral values in our society. Any society that accepts the killing of unwanted babies and old people or anyone else that is not deemed capable of living a “meaningful or viable life” has no call to be shocked and surprised that these things happen in a “civilized society.”
The same news people that express outrage and surprise about the abuses that are running amok in our society are the same ones that attack anyone that promotes moral values. The old proverb that says, “You can’t have your cake and eat it too” comes to mind.
We indeed have sunk to lows that people of character and foresight have been warning about for many years.
Although the source of the following quote is debated, it is true none the less, “the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”
I fully intend to let my voice be heard against the imbecility that has permeated our society.
