Follow Lord’s way

To the Journal editor:

Another tragic event this time in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s a problem that may get worse. Banning guns may help but the real way would be for people to change. Seems to me that the moral decay that has increased in regards to respect for one another and also angry and depressed people that sometimes can’t get help.

Many have mental problems and that the medical help is not available. It’s a big problem that only can be solved by a spiritual awakening. One has to have not only God’s help but others who at least willing to try to help change the mindset to insert love and caring instead of hate and indifference. I hope that may come about but our leaders in Washington are surely not setting an example.

No respect for each other. Even now the NFL is into it. No respect for the national anthem or our flag. Serving my country for 10 years in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Coast Guard was an honor for me but nowadays I don’t know if I would put my life on the line with the way this country is going. If things don’t change, it will not be a great America but a destroyed America. Only time will tell. In my 77 years I have to say it’s not getting better. Just to mention a few, the violence on TV, the movies and the news. It’s mostly bad killing, sex, fake news.

The list is pretty big. So for me I’m on a path to a better place. Once I pass on I believe in the promise of Jesus. In my father’s house are many rooms. I have a place for you. A place of love, peace and in the presence of the Lord. That’s really good news.
