Letters to the Editor: Roundabout needed

To the Journal editor:

With (Marquette’s) city government going gaga over roundabout building, may I suggest a location where one of these contraptions is actually severely needed for safety concerns?

I’m referring to the intersection of East Washington Street and Lakeshore Boulevard, where, with no westbound lane and a large building on the north corner, a horrible blindspot occurs for cars attempting to turn left onto Lakeshore, to safely spot drivers coming southward on Lakeshore without encroaching beyond the crosswalk to get a clear view before turning.

Long as I’m writing I might as well add a comment about those cute, new crosswalk signs teaching pedestrians how to cross busy streets without having to look up from their texting.
