Lights a bother

To the Journal editor:

On behalf of myself and many others who deal with sensory issues, I must make known what has become a hurtful piece of equipment that was recently added to two city streets here in Marquette.

Located on Presque Isle near the PEIF building entrance and on Wright Street at the crossing of the Northern Michigan University parking lot are a matching set of flashing LED pedestrian signs.

These are on a frequency that plays havoc with the cognitive function very much like a strobe can effect a person with a seizure disorder.

I’m reaching out here today to ask the responsible parties to seek a way to adjust the flash pattern to a slower which can make less this hurtful situation.
