Costs are too high
To the Journal editor:
I am looking to rent an apartment for my fiance and I in the city of Negaunee.
She lives in the city and wants to remain here, but, the prices for utility turn on is so expensive that we have to look at Ishpeming (which has a) high crime rate city that is less desirable for us.
We both love Negaunee and want to stay here but the city council will not listen to the landlords with their pleas to lower the cost of utility turn ons.
The sum of $450 is not acceptable for most people. I walk down the streets and see a lot of for sale signs. People cannot afford to live here.
A ghost town … future for Negaunee?
