Scouts success

To the Journal editor:

Thanks to the community for supporting the Trails End Popcorn sale by the eight Cub Scout packs, nine Boy Scout troops and one Venture Crew in the Marquette-Alger County area. The scouts collectively sold $81,720 of product.

Approximately 39 percent of this amount supports the activities of the units and 31 percent goes toward the programs, services, and camps of the Bay Lakes Council including Camp Hiawatha near Chatham.

Special thanks to the following businesses and organizations which allowed Scouts to conduct sales at their facility: Tadych’s Econo Foods, Valle’s Village Market, Wal-Mart, Jim’s Jubilee Foods, Elk’s Lodge No. 447, Holiday Stationstores in Harvey, Lowes, Tractor Supply, The Bride’s Choice, Super One, Cross Roads Mini Mart and Westwood Mall.
