Pioneer Days a fun celebration of all things Negaunee
It’s been called the city of Negaunee’s favorite week of the year.
And why not? Pioneer Days, which has been taking place in Negaunee all week, includes a wide variety of activities that groups and families often build reunions around.
Be it parades, softball tournaments, dinners or other community gatherings, Pioneer Days, coordinated by the nonprofit Negaunee Irontown Association, is a celebration of all things Negaunee.
Looking for something to do tonight? The Mr. Upper Peninsula Pageant kicks off at 7 at the Historic Vista Theater.
And on Saturday, there are a load of fun activities happening. A parade begins at 11:30 a.m. with the line-up starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Negaunee Senior Center. Its theme this year is, “Our local service organizations — the heart of our community.”
Beginning at 1 p.m. at Teal Lake is the community picnic with food, music and children’s activities. It will continue until dusk, ending with a fireworks show over the water. Providing music as the featured entertainer this year is Donald Benjamin, award-winning singer-songwriter.
Not from Negaunee but still want to check out what’s going on? No problem. Everyone is welcome.
