GWINN, MI – Sharon Lee Stinson, 73, of Gwinn, died Friday morning, January 4, 2019 at UP Health System-Marquette.

She was born January 18, 1945 in Grayling, Michigan to Charles F. and Donna (LeMonte) Williams. Sharon graduated from Grayling High School in 1963 where she was an active participant in many clubs, student council, and a proud varsity cheerleader. She attended Central Michigan University.

On November 9, 1968 she married the love of her life, Richard Stinson in Grayling.

Sharon was a devoted military wife and gained an affinity for traveling to Hawaii and around Europe. She had a deep love for her family and was dedicated to supporting them as well as the family of friends she developed over the past 30 years in Gwinn.

Sharon served as a Cub Scout den mother for many years. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her family, caring for her beloved dog Anne, gardening, crafting, craft shows, and was an avid Detroit Lions fan.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Stinson of Gwinn; sons, Stephen Stinson of Gwinn and Charlie (Becky) Stinson and grandson Charlie Stinson all of Midland, MI; mother, Donna “Sammy” Williams of Grayling; sister, Patricia (Gary) Swanson; nieces, RaeAnne Swanson and her children Jordan and Marisa, Marcie (Scott) and daughter Jessie Daly, all of Seminole, FL; step grandchildren Casey (Maddie) Bridges, Ava, Tate, and Bo, and Courtney Bridges all of Bay City, MI; Goddaughters, RaeAnne and her daughter Marisa, and Maribeth Miller of Grayling, MI; and many other nieces and nephews in Grayling and Cadillac areas.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 10 am to 12 Noon at the Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon in the funeral home with Rev. Ron Westman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
