Christian James Tousignant
ISHPEMING, MI – Christian James Tousignant, age 21, lifelong Ishpeming resident, passed away on Monday December 3, 2018 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Christian was born in Ishpeming on February 14, 1997 to Dennis Tousignant and Stacy Nardi. He attended Ishpeming Public Schools and was a IHS graduate, class of 2015. Following graduation Christian enlisted in the United States Army where he served until his honorable discharge. He then went on to work at Sagola Hardwood as a machine operator.
Christian was truly a selfless man, getting the most enjoyment through helping others. He had a true passion for service.
Christian enjoyed sports during his high school years, listening to all genres of music, and spending time with his family, especially with his brothers.
Even after Christians passing he has continued to help others in need through the donation of his organs through the Gift of Life.
Christian is survived by his parents- Dennis (Carie Blemke) Tousignant, Stacy (Chris Wixtrom) Nardi, paternal grandparents- Dennis and Julia Tousignant, maternal grandparents- Mike and Tina Nardi, Joyce Cote and his grandpa John Cote in Missouri, maternal great grandfather- Francis Nardi, siblings- Jordan Tousignant, Dennis Tousignant, Matthew Prodell, Ann Marie (Christian) Nault, step siblings- Kenneth Waters, Derek Blemke, aunts and uncles- Mark (Malea) Tousignant, Adam Tousignant, Mindy (Jim) Nardi, Mark Mattila, Laura Nardi, Brittany (Bryce) Nardi, Mike (Joanna) Nardi, girlfriend- Natasha Silvers and unborn child Baby “Peanut” Tousignant, along with numerous other cousins, great aunts and uncles, and beloved extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents- Arnie “Muna” Laakso, Shirley Laakso, Shirley Nardi, Peter Tousignant, Theresa Tousignant, and Susan Fletcher.
Honoring Christians final wishes, a celebration of his life will be held at the Greenwood American Legion Post 114 on Sunday December 16, 2018 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm where Christian will be honored and remembered through the sharing of stories and other memories. A potluck luncheon will also take place during the memorial time for Christian.
Private military honors will be accorded for Christians family by the United States Army 107th Engineers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice in memory of Christian, or consider helping a needy family for Christmas.
