Leslie C. Talo

NEENAH, WI – Leslie C. Talo, age 86 of Neenah WI, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Monday, October 9, 2018.

He was born in Negaunee, MI to the late Alexander and Alma (Kallioinen) Talo on September 23, 1932.

Les was a graduate of Negaunee High School and went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.

He married Sue Renowden on July 30, 1955 and the two moved to the Chicago area where Les worked for International Harvester as an engineer for three years.

He then secured a job with Kimberly-Clark, which brought the family to Neenah. He worked for KC for 18 years before taking an engineering position at Specialty Research and Instrumentation, and then for Rolco International. Les retired at age 67.

He greatly enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting in the Clam Lake area of Wisconsin.

He especially enjoyed his three week trip to Alaska with his friends. He was a lifelong Packer and Brewer fan and spent much of his time and talents volunteering at Martin Luther Church and School of Neenah. Old car shows and lunches out with his friends were among some of his favorite pastimes.

Les will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Sue; his daughters: Victoria Alatalo and Gloria (Randy) Plamann; his sons: David (Susan) Talo and Matthew (Tammy) Talo; as well as by his grandchildren: Jennifer Plamann, Jaclyn (Todd) Knorr; Jessica (Justin) Jensen; Colin Talo; Drew Talo; Alec, Ryan, and Brenna Talo. He is further survived by his great-grandchildren: Evan and Elaina Knorr; and by his step-great-grandchild, Madison Jensen.

A committal service for Les will be held this Saturday, October 20, 2018 in the afternoon at Negaunee City Cemetery, where he will be inurned alongside his family.
