HUMBOLDT TWP, MI — Thomas G. Warner, age 92, longtime Humboldt Twp. resident passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette where he had been a resident since February of 2018.

Tom was born July 15, 1926 in Champion, MI the son of the late Oliver and Donna (Harsh) Warner. He grew up in Champion and was a graduate of the Champion High School, Class of 1944. He served in the United States Army with the Americal Div., HQ CO, 1st Battalion in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II. Tom was honorably discharged from the Army on Nov 16, 1946. He worked as a civilian plumber for the United States Government first in New Mexico and then at the KI Sawyer Air Force Base for over 20 years, retiring in 1986.

Tom was a member of the Ishpeming Elks Lodge, the Champion-Beacon Historical Society and the Ishpeming VFW. In his retirement years, Tom enjoyed his daily trip to the Champion Fire Hall to catch up on the community news and coffee with his friends. He loved to spend time at deer camp, blueberry picking, or just being with his dog.

Tom was preceded in death by his first wife Agnes (Mattila) Warner on June 13, 1977 and his second wife Jean (Sleeman) Warner on June 14, 2004.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Per Tom’s request, no public services will be held and cremation will take place.
