Thomas A. Webb
MARQUETTE, MI – Thomas Alfred Webb age 90 of Marquette passed away early Saturday morning, September 1, 2018 at his home in the loving, comforting care of his family and UP Home Health and Hospice.
Born August 18, 1928 in Keego Harbor, Michigan to Alfred and Elizabeth (Kidd) Webb, Tom was raised in Keego Harbor graduating from Roosevelt High School.
He entered military service serving with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On December 30, 1950 Tom married the former Jean Marie Maschino and the couple made their home in Davison, Michigan. Tom was employed as a wood pattern maker for 42 years at Genesee Foundry and General Motors, retiring in 1990.
Upon retirement Tom and Jean relocated to Indian River before moving to Marquette in 2007.
Tom was a well known carving artist specializing in wildlife and successfully competing in worldwide waterfowl shows. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an enthusiastic fan of Northern Michigan University sports.
Tom is survived by his sons, Joe (Robin) Webb of Davison, Jeff (Dawn) Webb, Jim (Deb) Webb both of Indian River, and Jon Webb of Marquette; son-in-law, Milton Pappas of Goodrich; grandchildren, Jason (Tuesday) Webb, Joe Webb Jr, Heather Carpenter, Josh Maddox, Patrick (Jessie) Webb, Tom (Amy) Webb, Jared Webb, Logan Webb, Nick Pappas, and Jenny (Shawn) Mathieu; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Marie Webb in 2011, his daughter, Janet Pappas in 1991, brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Carol Webb.
A private family gathering will be held Monday, September 10th, honoring Tom’s request. The Fassbender Funeral Home is serving the family, where condolences may be expressed online at fassbenderfuneralhome.com
