BIG BAY, MI – Lillian Anna Johnson, age 101, formerly of Big Bay, entered eternal life Monday evening, August 27, 2018, at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living Facility.

Born February 13, 1917, in Negaunee, a daughter of Victor and Anna (Turri) Erickson, Lillian was raised in Negaunee and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1935.

She was employed at the Huron Mountain Club, and while working as a hostess, met Robert W. Johnson. The couple was married November 6, 1948 in Negaunee and soon after moved to Highland Park where they resided for a brief time. They relocated to Birmingham where they resided until Bob’s retirement in 1981. While in Birmingham, Lillian was a member of Embury United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir and belonging to various women’s groups within the parish.

Upon his retirement, Bob and Lillian moved to Big Bay, spending many of their winters at the home in Birmingham or traveling. In Big Bay, Lillian was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church.

Throughout the years, Lillian’s life centered around her family, church, and community.

Lillian is survived by her son, Robert E. (Karen) Johnson of Okemos; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Seth) Richtsmeier of Framingham, MA and Todd (fiance, Kelsey McCoy) Johnson of Stafford, VA; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Johnson in 1991; a son, Eric W. Johnson in April of this year; and several brothers and sisters.

Interment will be made in the Powell Township Cemetery, Big Bay, next spring.
