Angela Anne Paquette
MARQUETTE, MI – Angela Anne Paquette, age 88, of Marquette, entered eternal life Monday evening, August 6, 2018, at the Norlite Nursing Center, in the loving, comforting care of her family.
Born February 5, 1930, in Traunik, a daughter of Frank and Jennie (Benchina) Bartol, Angela was raised in the Traunik-Trenary area and attended the local schools.
Following graduation from Eben High School in 1949, Angela was employed at the Tip Top Cafe on North Third Street. In 1950, Angela married Henry G. Paquette and the couple set about establishing their home in Marquette and eventually raising four children. Angela was a loving mother and homemaker. An experienced gardener, she canned vegetables and was known for making the best pickles and wine, sharing the fruits of her labors with family and friends. Her flower gardens were often the envy of many, and she was always willing to share tips on growing. She was an avid reader, loved working crossword puzzles, and for many years belonged to bowling leagues. However, spending time with family, especially the grandchildren, brought her special pleasure and she always had a treat when family or friends dropped in for a visit. Angela was a member of the former Moose Lodge.
Survivors include her four children, Gail (David) Wilson of Tucson, AZ, Henry (Kim) Paquette of Houston, TX, Tina (Jim) Urban of Marquette, and James (Bobi Frye) Paquette of Marquette; her grandchildren, Michelle Stephans of Minneapolis, MN, Angel Hernandez of Missouri, and Jodi (Matt Albinger) Springer of Duluth, MN; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Angela was preceded in death by her husband, Henry in 1990; an infant daughter, Pamela Sue; two sisters and four brothers.
A private family celebration of Angela’s life will be held. Interment will be made in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to UPAWS (Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter), P.O. Box 968, Marquette, MI 49855.
