BIG BAY, MI – Deanna entered eternal life on February 10, 2018 at her home, surrounded by love.

Deanna was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 21, 1941. She was a hardworking, very giving, loving woman, mother, grandmother, friend, sister, aunt and wife. Deanna was well known for her homemade cooking, her pies were delicious and beyond compare. Her smile lit up a room when she walked in. Her generosity went for miles, and her love was unconditional. She loved going to bingo, playing cards and spending time with her family.

Her life had many obstacles, yet through it all her love for her family remained her focus. Her perseverance is a legacy that will strive in our hearts and prove we can overcome all distractions in our lives.

Deanna was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda McHugh.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph E. Stanley; her five sons, Maxwell, James (Evelyn), John (Lorena), Curtis (Tiffany) and Jeffery Abbott; her two daughters, Norma Abbott and Amy (Chris) Havel. She also had four step-children from her husband, Joseph; Carol (Dave) Hoffman, Richard Stanley, Fredrick (Shannon) Stanley and Nancy (Rick) Thelen. Also surviving are her siblings, Mary Rangle, Victoria Rogers, Virginia Rangle, William Rangle and Pedro Rangle; and her close friend, Mary Pat Johnson.

Deanna was nicknamed Dee by her loving husband, Joe. Dee and Joe were married for 29 years. Between them they had 39 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice for their support in her final days.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at the Powell Township Cemetery, Big Bay, with Barbara Tooman from Lake Superior Hospice Spiritual Care Team officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice at 914 W. Baraga Avenue, Marquette, MI 49855.
