William Mack Lambert

NEWBERRY, MI – William Mack “Pard” Lambert, 85, of Newberry, died Monday afternoon October 2, 2017 at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry surrounded by his family.

Born August 4, 1932 in Gaylord, son of the late William C. and Bertha (Clark) Lambert, Mack was raised in Newberry until his father returned home from World War II, moving with his family to the logging camp in McFarland, MI. He and his first wife Ruth lived in Marquette where they had six children and, later in 1966, he married Theresa (Abram) Lambert, who preceded him in death in 1995, and made their home in McMillan and Curtis area having two children.

In his life Mack witnessed the change in logging going from a two men with a cross cut saw and horses to mechanized logging. He was a great story teller and his children, grandchildren and friends loved to sit and listen to his stories over a beer.

He was never afraid of a hard day’s work. Most of the time in the last 10 years or so you could find him working at Rick Holbrook’s saw mill or out in the bush cutting logs. There wasn’t a drywall job that he was afraid to tackle, make into a master piece and there are many homes in the area that are showing off his craftsmanship.

Mack is survived by his daughters Kerry (Duane Kisro) Lambert of Newberry, Ginger Whitty of Skandia, Sue (Scott) Pyykola of Marquette, Shelly Lambert of Skandia and Dawn (Pete Sayring) Lambert of Ishpeming; sons William S.
