Allan L. LeRoy
ISHPEMING, MI – Allan L. LeRoy, age 85 of 730 Cooper Lake Rd Ishpeming passed away Saturday September 30, 2017 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where he has been a resident since January.
Allan was born March 28, 1932 in Stephenson, MI to Elmer and Madge (Buckingham) LeRoy. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Allan worked for Cleveland Cliffs for 31 years retiring in 1995 from the Brownstone Shop as a welder.
Allan was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Family time was important to Allan. He enjoyed going to camp to deer and bird hunt.
A few of Allan’s hobbies include woodworking, cutting firewood and spending time on his tractor.
Allan is survived by his wife, Ruth (Marcotte) LeRoy, whom he married on June 14, 1952, 3 children: Dr. James (Dr. Jess Alberts) LeRoy of Tempe, AZ, Cheryl LeRoy of Ishpeming and Jay (Shana) LeRoy of Ishpeming, 6 grandchildren: Aaron (Veronica) LeRoy, Jilaine LeRoy, Amber (Eric) Bartle, Quinn LeRoy, Faith LeRoy and Jared LeRoy, 2 great grandchildren: Brighton and Remmi Teddy, a sister, Elaine (Jim) Ray of Stephenson, a brother Eugene (Sarah) LeRoy of Cedar River, MI along with brother and sister in laws, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents, along with 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Allan’s family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00-11:00 am on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Fr. Larry Van Damme officiating.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 380.
