Wayne F. Robinson
GWINN, MI – Wayne F. Robinson, 86, of Gwinn, died Monday morning, September 11, 2017 at his residence in the care of his loving wife and U.P. Home Health and Hospice.
Wayne was born on April 25, 1931 in Sands Township, Michigan to Jack and Ferral Robinson. Following high school graduation, Wayne was employed with the L.S.&I. Railroad for a short time prior to enlisting with the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict where he became a Purple Heart recipient.
After being honorably discharged from the service, Wayne worked many years with the Guardian Fence Company in Long Beach, California. He eventually retired from a natural gas pipeline company.
Wayne was a life member of the VFW and a member of American Legion Post 44. He loved being in the woods, cutting trees and 4-Wheeling.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Ann, who he married on October 23, 1982 in Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter, LeAnne Robinson of Marquette; one granddaughter, Kara Rose; one great grandson, Braden Rose and a great granddaughter, Rylan Rose; three nieces, Gail DeMarse, Judy Brisette, and Bonnie (Kurt) Tatge; also a nephew, Ken (Beth) Kampe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joan Kampe and LaVerne “Pappy” Olson as well as his first wife, Ann Luoma Robinson.
The Robinson family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home of Marquette where a memorial service will be conducted in the funeral home at noon with the Rev. Leon Jarvis officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service in the funeral home concluding with military honors at the Park Cemetery.
